How the Personal Year is worked out
Your Personal Year number is the digit sum of your birth day, your birth month and the year you are looking at, reduced to a single number. The Personal Month adds the calendar month to it, and the Personal Day adds the calendar day to that.
The numbers run in a nine-year cycle. Year 1 is for beginnings, the middle years for building and relationships, and year 9 for completing and letting go before a new cycle starts.
Career timing
Personal Year 1 is traditionally the best time to start a new job or venture, year 4 for steady hard work, year 5 for change and travel, and year 8 for results, promotions and authority.
Years 7 and 9 favour study, review and finishing work rather than big launches.
Money and business planning
Business owners often plan expansions for years 1 and 8 and keep year 9 for clearing old debts and stock. The Personal Month helps fine-tune the timing inside the year.
These are traditional tendencies, not guarantees, and they work best alongside sound financial planning.
Study and examinations
Years 3 and 7 are traditionally good for learning: 3 for creative and expressive subjects, 7 for research and deep study. The Personal Day can help choose calm dates for revision.
Regular study always matters more than the date.
Home, property and family
Year 4 is traditionally linked with home and foundations, and year 6 with family, marriage and responsibility. Many families prefer these years for buying property or moving house.
The car and house tool on this site can check the number of a new home against your birth numbers.
Names and the yearly cycle
The yearly cycle comes from the birth date, so a name change does not alter it. A supportive name number can, however, soften a challenging year.
Some teachers start the personal year on the birthday rather than on 1 January; the forecast tool notes this so you can read the change-over period with care.
Remedies for each year
Each year number carries the planet of that number, so the remedies are that planet's: its day, colour and simple mantra. The forecast tool shows a remedy box for your year, month and day.
Follow a remedy steadily for about 40 days, and treat it as support rather than a promise.
