What is the Driver number in numerology?
The Driver number is your birth day reduced to one digit. Someone born on the 23rd has Driver 2 + 3 = 5. It is the same number Indian numerology calls Mulank, and it is read as your nature: how you think, react and drive yourself every day.
What is the Conductor number?
The Conductor number is your complete date of birth added together. It is the same number as Bhagyank, or Life Path. Where the Driver is the one at the wheel, the Conductor is read as the route: the direction life keeps taking you, especially as you grow older.
How to calculate Driver and Conductor numbers
Driver: add the digits of the birth day until one digit is left.
Conductor: add every digit of the day, the month and the year, then keep adding until one digit is left.
Worked example, 31-01-1968. Driver: 3 + 1 = 4. Conductor: 3 + 1 + 0 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 8 = 29, and 2 + 9 = 11. NumberHealer shows 11 as a master number, and reads it as 2 when the Driver–Conductor pair is checked. So this person is Driver 4, Conductor 2.
Driver vs Mulank, Conductor vs Bhagyank
These are not new numbers. Driver is the English name for Mulank, and Conductor is the English name for Bhagyank. Many Indian numerologists use the two pairs of names side by side, which is why you may see both in a report.
Friendly, neutral and enemy pairs
Each number is ruled by a planet: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars. Whether the Driver and Conductor get along is read from the friendship between their planets.
When the pair is friendly, your nature supports your path and effort turns into results more easily. When it is neutral, results depend on the rest of the chart. When it is unfriendly, nature and path pull apart and progress usually needs more struggle and correction.
For example, on the friendship chart NumberHealer uses, 1 (Sun) lists 8 (Saturn) as a non-friend. For 4 (Rahu), another 4 and an 8 are marked as a mixed relationship that can help for a while but is difficult in the long run.

From NumberHealer's planet friendship chart. Master 11 and 22 are read as 2 and 4 for pairs.
Common pairs: Driver 1 Conductor 8, Driver 4 Conductor 4, Driver 4 Conductor 8
Driver 1 Conductor 8: Sun and Saturn are traditionally opposed. The course notes NumberHealer follows read this pair as struggle, with marriage matters uncertain, and point to police and politics as fields where it can work.
Driver 4 Conductor 4: a double Rahu. The notes read it as best suited to law, with struggle along the way.
Driver 4 Conductor 8: Rahu with Saturn. The notes read it as a path of struggle that is excellent for law.
A pair is only one part of a reading. Your name number, Lo Shu grid and missing numbers can soften or strengthen it.
Driver, Conductor and Kua in the Lo Shu grid
In the Lo Shu grid, the Driver, Conductor and Kua numbers are added to the digits of your birth date. This can fill a box that would otherwise be empty, which changes which planes of the grid are complete. That is why the same birth date can show a different grid once D, C and K are added.
Remedies when Driver and Conductor clash
Remedies usually start with the name: a spelling whose number is friendly to both Driver and Conductor. The same check is used for a mobile, car or house number.
Planet remedies for the weaker number (its day, colours and, only after consultation, its gemstone) are added on top. A gemstone should never be chosen from one pair alone.
